Crypto state – gambling -10 years

I have a theory I would love to share.

My theory goes as follows:

The current state of crypto is similar to gambling in 2013 (around ten years ago).

Introduction:

  • I have been working in gambling since 2012 – as a project manager, then GM, etc. – at a casino, then integrator, then a few game studios.
  • I was one of the first responders when the UK decided to introduce limitation and self-exclusion logic into the slots.
  • I was observing more and more "dumb" game studios being created to be "content providers" as every casino required more new, unique and well-working games.
  • I observed and learned how the gambling industry grew inch by inch every year, how the chaotic managers got nothing more than screams and luck to offer and were replaced by specialists from other places.
  • It was fun and intense 😉 I lost contact with a few people that – as the gossip goes – got introduced to a few three-letter acronyms from the US.
  • So now I am lurking in both industries from aside – I got a twitterwatcher to play with the crypto and a few friends to catch up now and then from gambling. Fun fact – quite a few of them moved to crypto.

Summary:

  • What we will see in the upcoming future:
    • More professionalization on the projects – fewer kids, wannabe bosses, making exchanges and more experienced managers.
    • Fewer millionaires (not by a much, though) – it will be harder to make a coin and scam millions onto Your account.
    • More restrictions – KYC, self-exclusion, markets being observed by national entities – blockchain is perfect for that, to be fair.
  • So now what?
    • Simply sit on your ass and enjoy the ride 😉 You will see something spectacular.

So what's with You?

Do you have something that crypto is reminding You of?
