At the previous high, I dumped all my Eth and bought a bright green Lamborghini Huracan Evo (2021, RWD, don't like the AWD).
The Russian barber asked me "bro, is your girl with you just for the car?" I said no, we started dating when I was driving a 2000 Civic Si (em1).
When the market bombed, I sold the car for what I paid for it and reloaded into Eth, BTC and VTI.
Part of the market fallout is that I was interviewed by the BBC for warning about the Celsius implosion.
I originally heard about BTC on Slashdot when it broke $1 USD. People were freaking out, "WOW IT'S WORTH A WHOLE U.S. DOLLAR!!" I bought at $7 on Mt. Gox, and rode the waves through three major run-ups and crashes, and I still DCA every paycheck.
The Lambo was a very fun experience. Before pulling the trigger, I rented one in Vegas, then test drove a Ferrari F8 Tributo (didn't like the turbo lag and the engine warning lights on a car with 600 miles on it), was snubbed and talked to snobbily at the Chevy dealership when trying to look at the C8, and completely ignored at the Honda dealership when trying to look at the Type-R. I put ~6,000 miles on it in the short time I owned it. Insurance (comprehensive) was less than my Toyota, weirdly. It averaged 16 MPG, and 1000 SPG. I drove around a lot with my cat (photos of cat and car but more importantly cat), he loved it. I got the RWD model instead of AWD because it's fun feeling the backend get squirrely, and I think it forces you to be a better driver not being able to rely on AWD.
I will buy another Lambo one day, purple this time, and keep it long-term. My point of all this is that I still believe in crypto long-term, and still DCA to this day. It hasn't been all wins either, the $11,200 I withdrew from Celsius before it bombed, I moved to Gemini Earn, and promptly lost all of it when FTX/Genesis went down.
All this to say, please, please please transfer your crypto to cold storage (Ledger preferred over Trezor as Trezor doesn't use a secure element chip), DCA, and be patient for the long term. I was endlessly mocked for years by my friends back when BTC was $7, then $250, then $30, then $1100, etc. Hang in there and be patient!
